Dear Mr. Hillers,
Thank you so much for visiting and entertaining at Maple Leaf Health Care in Statesville in February. My mother is an 81 year old resident with Advanced stage Alzheimer’s Disease. She no longer has the ability to speak and for the past few months had retreated into her own little world showing very little reaction to outside stimuli.
That is why when you stopped by her room to play the violin for her, the nurses and I were brought to tears when Mom raised her arms and moved them in time to your music.
Since that time, the Physical Therapy Dept. has begun working with her and she does seem more alert. I truly believe your music was the best therapy!
